Presentation Guidelines

Technical recommendations for Oral Presentations
  • Presenters shall respect the allocated time (see the preliminary programme: 30 min for the invited talks only, 20 min for all other talks) per presentation, this is total time and includes allowing a suggested 5 min and 3 min, respectively, for questions and discussion.
  • Please take into account that the meeting room is quite large, the presentations should contain clear information with appropriate font (and image) size that is legible from the back of the conference rooms.
  • Both a Mac (Mac OSX El Capitan) and a PC (Windows 7) will be provided, offering Powerpoint, Keynote, OpenOffice, and Acrobat for making presentations. You will not be allowed to use your own laptop for making your presentation.
  • Please bring your presentation on a USB stick (make a folder if not a single file), name it LastnameInitial.type (e.g. PresenterA.pptx) and make sure your presentation has been copied to the computer of your choice well before the start of your session.
  • Presenters are kindly requested to be present in the meeting room at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the session
  • All presentations will be posted on the web soon after the meeting in pdf format. We will not use your talk “as given” without your explicit permission. If you want to make small modifications (e.g. removing that slide with the super-sensitive data) in the version to be posted that is fine, but make sure to provide the to-be-posted version to us during the meeting.
Technical recommendations for Poster Presentations

  • Presenters at the poster sessions shall bring their own printed posters. It will not be possible to print a poster on site.
  • The size of the poster panels is 120 cm width and 180 cm height, this thus defines the maximum poster size, it is considerably larger than A0.
  • Authors are strongly encouraged to produce a “proper” full-size poster rather than using multiple smaller (e.g. A4) sheets.
  • Poster numbers (according to the conference programme) will be noted on the poster panels.
  • Presenters shall be available near their poster for the duration of the poster sessions in order to answer to the conference participants questions.
  • All presentations will be posted on the web soon after the meeting in pdf format. We ask you to provide your poster as a (e.g. but not necessarily pdf) file for this purpose during the meeting.
