Copernicus Space Component Data Access workshop

ESA/ESRIN, Frascati
20 April (from 13:30) to 22 April 2015

The European Space Agency coordinates the implementation and the operations of the Copernicus Space Component as defined in the Agreement with the European Union, in particular the Agency develops the Sentinel dedicated missions and coordinates the access to space-based observation data from Sentinels as well as Copernicus Contributing Missions in support to Copernicus Services and other users.

With Sentinel-1a in routine operations and approaching Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-3 launches, data from a growing fleet of Copernicus Contributing missions will be made available to Copernicus users in the second phase of the Datawarehouse starting on April 1st 2015. In parallel, ESA is performing a major upgrade of the Coordinated Data access System including enhanced coordination of the users requests handling and data delivery.

The 2015 Copernicus Space Component Data Access workshop will provide an opportunity for all stakeholders to review the results achieved so far and address the challenges of the next phase. In particular, Data Providers and Copernicus Services will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the discussion through oral and poster presentations of their achievements and plans for the future, and during splinter sessions dedicated to selected themes. The outcomes of the workshop will serve the operations of the Copernicus Space Component Data Access (CSCDA) during the new phase.

The workshop targets primarily  members of Copernicus Services, Data Providers and other stakeholders of the Copernicus Space Component Data Access.

The CSC-Data Access project is funded by the European Union and the European Space Agency as an integral part of the GMES/Copernicus Space Component Programme. The project has received funding from the Multiannual Financial Framework Programme (MFF).
